Sunday June 9 - Verboten to Project 9

Well made it this time.  Found out one thing though.  It is probably best that those tires I had on are shot.  As they suck donkeys in Fernie Terrain.  Terrible on anything but strict XC stuff.  Like double track road.  On roots or rocks or loose dirt.  They are like riding on ice.  Terrible.

The climb up Project 9 is much steeper at the top than I remember.  Definitely had to push the last couple hundred meters.

Was looking at the cut off times for the Fernie Enduro.  We will have to be going and make up some buffer on the first three legs to make sure you have enough time to finish hypervent.  Even 10-15 on each leg before Hypervent will make a big difference.

Saturday June 8 - Flat tire

Saturday was going to do Verboten down to the provincial park then up Project 9.  Got about 200m past Boom Chair and got a flat on my front tire this time.  Hole through the casing between the treads, just like the rear tire.

But this time I was all prepared.  Tube, CO2, tire levers ... Damn ... didn't pack a small knife or something to pull the bead off!  So ... I started to walk back to Timberline.  Luckily there was a crew doing lift maintenance on Boom Chair.  They gave me a lift back to the base.  So I just had to walk back from the day lodge.  Which was not bad.

Easy ride in the rain

Got out for what should have been a lite drizzle.  But turned in to hard rain at the bottom of Big Ed.

6 on Big Ed and 2 on COP

Good morning ... rain finally stopped ... and I got a decent ride in this morning.
